Brain Tutor 3D App Reviews

Its an ok app, def great for free but it would be much better if there were more brain areas with the actual structure name (i.e. Basil Ganglia) and if every brain area had Function information (what that particular brain area is responsible for, what it does), instead of just location.

I am impressed with how this has improved my overall understanding of neuroanatomy. Thanks! STOP giving this app bad reviews, u get what u pay for. Honestly are u gonna sit down for a couple hours a day studying with ur iPhone? I paid 40$ for netters neuro note cards App, and while They are very detailed, I have trouble spending more than 10 minutes a day while Im taking a crap to study them. For example, my 10 mins today were spent writing this review ;-) In all seriousness, to learn the brain this should be one of the last resources u use. Right now, I have an atlas, a textbook, a high yield neuroanatomy text, a couple hundred pages of lecture notes, online neurosullabus, online sylvius, netters iPhone neuro app, and and a lab study guide. For a free app, this is a great tool to brush up on what u know, get used to MRI pics, and understand the brain in 3D. It would def. Pay for a detailed version that included the spinal cord, but for this free app there is nothing more I can ask for.

I really like this app but it needs to be a little more advanced. With the cerebrellum and white matter.

I am amazed by what the developers have been able to accomplish!!!!! It is superb!!!

This is the best app in the store. It would be even better if the images were higher res. Maybe inculde more than one head to choose from.

This is a wonderful app that works smoothly.

I am a trauma RN and this has been a great tool to understand the parts of the brain. It would get a 5/5 if it has more anatomical structures of the brain. What a great tool!

Good app. Worth it for free

Rainer has produced another great app that is aesthetically pleasing, smooth, and informative. My suggestions would be to improve the resolution (clearly the iPhone can handle it), increase the number of structures (including brainstem), and allow selection of multiple items simultaneously.

That would make this app much more comprehensive and complete. Otherwise a promising start.

Feature request: have a quiz function, where a gyro or sulcu is highlighted, and user has to choose correct choice. That would make it a five star app. Image quality is good, not great.

Great program. Very intuitive. Quiz would be nice, but surpasses my expectations for a free program.

I really hope they update this for iPhone OS 3.0 soon. The app is still mostly functional, but you can no longer select a particular structure to highlight in the 3D images. This is a very nice app, especially for free, and will still work on a 3.0 device, but I really miss that one broken feature.

im a neuroscience professor, and im blown away at the functionality and completeness of this app! ive recommended it to my students. great job. of course, if youre looking to expand it, there are many directions you could go with incorporating more data about the brain...
