UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the coolest apps on my iPod, but you guys need to get with the times and make it fully compatible with OS 3.0 Otherwise, its an extremely useful tool for hs, college, med school students, and the curious science nerd. Update and.... Add a quiz feature, and well be happy

Brain Tutor 3D

Extraordinary 3D visualization of real brain CT images. Quick, easy to use, remarkably smooth rotational capacity. A great learning tool, even for seasoned clinicians!

There is a better way!

Question: Why rely on MRI images, which have a pretty awful resolution? Answer: Because they are cheap (basically free for anyone with any access to a data bank) and easy to put together. There is a similar app called ‘3D brain’ that I think is far superior. It is not based on MRI images, and is therefore much easier to navigate.

Give all my students iPhones

What a great App for biology majors! Instead of texting in class, they could be studying. Dr.M

Really frickincool!

Great app!

I run an fMRI lab and I will have all my 1st year grad students get this. Please add subcortical structures (and vascular structures).

Oops...one little problem

Please double check the locations of BA 41 and BA 42 in the slice views. It seems that they are being displayed on the frontal lobes instead of the temporal lobes where they belong. (Interestingly, the 3D surface view seems to have it right). Thanks

Marvelous! Now about that iPad version...

It is difficult to capture in words just how much fun this app is to use. I work in a neuroimaging lab and after showing this off at a meeting I had to fight to get my phone back. I would love to see vascular structures and cranial nerves as others have noted (and that Cerebrii has) but for pure neurological joy, nothing beats this snappy, intuitive interface. Mad props to you Rainer Goebel. I hope you can find time to develop an iPad version.

This app stinks

It only shows you picture stupid even though its free dont get it.

Great!

This is a really cool ap. I would recommend it to my friends. Thanks for thinking in such a scientific way.

Neurosurgery Resident

Overall, a slick interface. Very cool to have 3D model AND 2D slices in all planes. Would be much more useful if popup labels would appear in images. Lots of potential to put most atlasas to shame if the info is flushed out (vasculature, basal ganglia, limbic system, hypo&thalamus, midbrain, brainstem, tracts). Would be cool to add 3D models of vessels reconstructed from angios and slices based on gross sections photos in addition to MRI.

Must have

Im a neurologist and this is sooooo good

This needs to be improved!!

I thought this was going to be an informational app and teach me about the brain, but instead it just left me confused instead.what the heck??

Super cool!

Educational, informative app, and its fun to manipulate the brain.

The picture quality can be better

If they can use higher resolution, that would be much better.

Who knew learning could be so much fun

I have always been interested in anatomy but this has made learning about the brain so much easier and now i just love to play with it. This App is such a great learning tool. I think that they should make this type of things for all types of the body.

Strength cosch

In my profession it is important to know what the medical staff are talking about. This app has helped me learn the information that will help me keep athletes safe and healthy.

Great App

This is very helpful!

anatomic position!

The for the axial slices, the exposed brain should be shown from the bottom and not the top as to give you true anatomic position as one would see on an actual MRI or CT.

Awesome app!!!

Tap the axial slice view and itll show you slices from the bottom up. Awesome app!!!
